Cops find

$13,000 in stolen clothing

LAWRENCEVILLE - Sheriff's deputies discovered nearly $13,000 worth of stolen clothing and a stolen motorcycle while serving eviction papers at a Lawrenceville apartment Wednesday night.

Deputies noticed large amounts of clothing strewn about the 12003 Holland Park apartment, lined shopping bags that seemed to be used to defeat store security devices and a motorcycle reported stolen from a Lilburn Pep Boys in 2006.

Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais said the Lawrenceville woman who rented the apartment fled to the leasing office when deputies arrived.

When officers attempted to question two men who stayed behind, the men ran, Bourbonnais said.

Officers caught up with and arrested 21-year-old Christian Aguirre of 6711 32 Ave. in Woodside, N.Y.

Bourbonnais said Aguirre was charged with theft by taking and officers continue to look for the two men who fled.

"The woman's name was on the lease and we believe one of the men is her boyfriend but we're not sure which one," Bourbonnais said.

Bourbonnais said investigators are not releasing the names of the other man and the woman because neither were arrested.

"There are no warrants for them, but we would like to speak with them," Bourbonnais said.

Bourbonnais was unsure why Aguirre was in Lawrenceville and what his relationship is to the man and woman.

Bourbonnais said the clothing is believed to be from multiple stores, including Sun & Ski, Victoria's Secret, Gap, Ann Taylor, Wilson's Leather, Banana Republic and others.

Most of the clothing taken from each store totaled $100 or $200, but some of the items had higher price tags, some totaling thousands of dollars, Bourbonnais added.
