LITHONIA - Jordan Willis paced a 12-hit attack on Wednesday as the Shiloh Generals defeated M.L. King 10-8.
Willis, who also got the save on the mound, was 5-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Vince Wood was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Generals, who are now 8-7. Daniel Grno struck out four and allowed three runs in three innings of relief to pick up the victory on the mound. BASEBALL Marist 1, Parkview 0 LILBURN - Despite a strong performance from Zach Chastain, Parkview could not capitalize with runners in scoring position and fell to Marist 1-0 on Wednesday. Chastain pitched five strong innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out two batters. Theo Asher came on in relief and pitched two innings of no-hit baseball. Asher also led the Panthers (10-5, 2-0) at the plate, going 2-for-3. Both Zach Cone and Matt Foster also went 2-for-3. Brookwood 10, Redan 5 SNELLVILLE - Ross Heffley and Ronnie Freeman anchored the Bronco attack as they pushed Brookwood past Redan 10-5 on Wednesday. Freeman and Heffley were both 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Ryan Lewis was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Broncos. Elliot Coor picked up the win for Brookwood (11-4). South sweeps doubleheader from Grayson County (Ky.) SNELLVILLE - The South Gwinnett Comets shut out Grayson County (Ky.) in consecutive games on Wednesday to improve their record to 9-5 on the season. In Game 1, Blaine Skaggs pitched six innings and allowed no runs on two hits while striking out 10 to lead the Comets to a 9-0 victory. David Johanningmeier was 3-for-4 and Zac Bui, Lance Whatley and Nick Blount each added two hits apiece. In Game 2, the Comets won 11-0 in five innings behind a shutout performance from Josh Pugh on the mound. Pugh pitched five innings and allowed five hits while striking out six and walking none in the victory. Johanningmeier was 2-for-2, Brett Teschner was 3-for-4 with two doubles and Corey Benson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Comets, who are now 9-5 on the season. North 11, Providence 9 LILBURN - Jim Moreland was 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs as he powered North Gwinnett past Providence 11-9 on Wednesday. Georgia State signee Mitch Rider was 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Doug Mullins and Ronnie Stewart each had two hits for the Bulldogs (12-1). Jon Walker and J.D. Pullen both went 3-for-5 to lead Providence (6-5-1) offensively. North Forsyth 1, Mill Creek 0 CUMMING - Cody Clickner was strong on the hill, but that was not enough as Mill Creek could only manage two hits in a 1-0 Region 7-AAAAA loss to North Forsyth on Wednesday. Clickner pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one run for the Hawks (6-9, 3-2). Dacula 11, Cedar Shoals 1 ATHENS - Zach Breaux pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits as Dacula rolled past Cedar Shoals 11-1 on Wednesday in a Region 8-AAAA matchup. Travis Blackburn was 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Wesley Lawrence had three RBIs and Matt Knudsen had two RBIs for the Falcons (11-4, 9-4). Frankie Miller had a solid day for Dacula as he was 2-for-2. BOYS SOCCER Wesleyan 6, Mt. Pisgah 0 NORCROSS - Wesleyan got a much needed victory Wednesday as it shut out Mount Pisgah 6-0. Greg Mackenzie led the Wolves' attack as he scored two goals and added two assists while Lawrence Buckley, Jake Pickert and Michael O'Hare added one goal apiece.
