Two killed in Lawrenceville crash

LAWRENCEVILLE - An accident Sunday night at a Lawrenceville intersection resulted in the death of a 51-year-old woman and injured a 7-year-old girl, police said.

Sandra Schoeder died Monday as a result of injuries she received when the Toyota Corolla she was riding in collided with a Dodge Caravan about 6:13 p.m.

Judith A. Rensuaw, 59, of Snellville was driving the Toyota southbound on Five Forks Trickum Road near Ashton Lane when her car hit the Caravan traveling northbound, said Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman, Cpl. Darren Moloney. The vehicles collided after Rensuaw swerved to prevent hitting a vehicle stopped in front of her, Moloney added.

Neither Rensuaw nor the driver of the Caravan, 43-year-old Jeri Mitsch of Lilburn, required medical attention, Moloney said.

Schoeder and the child were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where Schoeder died as a result of her injuries. Moloney said the child's injuries where not life-threatening.

Moloney was unsure of the relationship between the women and child traveling in the Toyota.

Moloney said drugs or alcohol do not seem to be contributing factors in the incident, but charges against Rensuaw are pending. Moloney said investigators are waiting for blood test results for those involved in the accident.

"If (tests) come back negative and there is no evidence of reckless driving, (Rensuaw) should face misdemeanor charges," Moloney said.

Moloney said both drivers and all passengers were wearing seat belts.
