Woman says live-in
girlfriend attacked her
•LILBURN - A Lilburn woman became angry when her live-in girlfriend woke her up and allegedly attacked her Tuesday at their Park Forest Court home.
The girlfriend told police Pamela Gunby pushed her down, pulled her hair, slapped and choked her. Gunby then began throwing decorative rocks, beer cans and other items at the girlfriend, according to a police report.
Two other women who had stayed overnight with the couple intervened in the fight and drove to the hospital with Gunby and her girlfriend. The girlfriend had a cut on her head that had to be stapled shut. Gunby was charged with aggravated assault and battery.
with stealing tree
•LAWRENCEVILLE - A Grayson man was arrested last week for allegedly stealing a tree from Outdoor Environment Nursery at 2265 Loganville Highway.
An officer saw a vehicle pull out of the business onto Loganville Highway at 5:30 a.m., a time when he knew the nursery to be closed. As the officer followed the vehicle, he also noticed the back passenger door was open and a tree was hanging out.
The car turned into a driveway a short distance up the road and the occupants of the car unloaded the tree. When confronted by the officer, the driver and passenger claimed that John Crow, 67, requested they drive him to pick up a tree he had just purchased.
Crow fled through the back door of the house, according to a police report. He was found hiding under a large bush in the back yard.
The owner of the nursery disputed Crow's claim that the tree had been legitimately purchased. Crow was charged with theft by taking and obstruction of law enforcement.
