DULUTH - Christian pop group MercyMe has canceled its Saturday stop at the Arena at Gwinnett Center because the group's lead singer has been hospitalized.
MercyMe was scheduled to play the Duluth venue Saturday with Audio Adrenaline and Phil Wickham, but the concert has been rescheduled for April 20, the arena announced Thursday. MercyMe's lead singer, Bart Millard, was diagnosed with diverticulitis, an intestinal disease, according to the group's Web site. Any tickets already purchased for the show will still be valid for the rescheduled date, said Gwinnett Center spokesman Chris Hendley. For refunds, tickets should be returned where they were purchased, he said. The band's announcement was made after the deadline for today's Weekend section, so the incorrect date still appears on the By Venue page.More like this story
