CONYERS - Alanna Hadley pitched a complete game striking out 13 and giving up one hit to help Dacula top Heritage 9-1 on Thursday.
Offensively Hadley was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI while Brandi Baggett was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Casey LeCats was 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base while Samantha Ramey went 2-for-4 with an RBI to help improve Dacula's overall record to 15-3-1 and 8-1 in region play.
Central 9, Berkmar 0
LILBURN - Central Gwinnett's Ginny Emory pitched seven innings giving up three hits, no runs, and striking out seven to defeat Berkmar 9-0 Thursday night.
Katie New was 3-for-5 with a run and RBI while Stephanie Peet was 3-for-3 with two runs and a RBI. Kim Smith was 2-for-3 with a run and RBI.
Apalachee 1, Monroe 0
WINDER - Courtney Gumby gave up two hits and struck out 14 to shut out Monroe 1-0 in eight innings Thursday night.
Gumby was 1-for-3 offensively while Emily Webb was 1-for-3. Erica Dale had the game-winning bunt while Carrie Ehling was the pinch runner to score the game-winning run.
Apalachee's record improved to 13-7 overall and 6-5 in Region 8-AAA.
Norcross 3, Duluth 1
NORCROSS - Samantha Findling got the win as she pitched the sixth inning, giving up one hit and helping Norcross win 3-1 on Thursday night.
Heidi Shape was 1-for-3 with a triple while Allison Klibanott was 2-for-4. Anisha Dixon and Nicole Jones both went 1-for-3 while Jaime Silvester pitched five innings and gave up only one run to improve Norcross' overall record to 10-11.
Hebron 4, Commerce 3
DACULA - Hebron came from behind 3-0 after an hour and a half rain delay to beat Commerce 4-3 Thursday night.
Nichole Smith was the winning pitcher for the Lions, who got big hits by Megan Griffin, Nichole Smith, Courtney Odum and Kayla Lawson.
South Forsyth 7, Grayson 6
GRAYSON - Grayson's Amanda Hutcheson was 2-for-4 with two runs, a stolen base and a RBI triple while Hayley Downs was 4-for-4 with two RBIs in a 7-6 loss to South Forsyth on Thursday.
Ashley Berger was 1-for-3 with a run while Blake Wilson was 1-for-2 with two runs. Sayler Hasty 1-for-2 with a run and RBI while Hannah McKay had two RBIs as Grayson's overall record goes to 12-11.
Wesleyan tops St. Pius, Parkview
LILBURN - Wesleyan improved its record to 31-13 Thursday night as it swept St. Pius (25-22, 25-21) and Parkview (25-17, 25-13).
Caiti Troyer had 23 assists while Betsy Smith had 16 kills and six digs. Anne Marie Armstrong had seven kills and six aces while Kate Edwards had 10 digs.
Parkview cruised past Holly Innocents' 15-25, 25-19, 25-12 and topped St. Pius 25-15, 25-20 on Thursday night.
Melissa Housworth had five kills, six assists and 13 digs while Marissa Hicks had 13 kills and 27 digs. Leslie Lewis had 19 kills while Caroline Dean had 23 assists. Abby Batchelor added 18 digs to improve Parkview's record to 15-5.
Buford sweeps Chestatee, Gainesville
GAINESVILLE - Buford cruised past Chestatee (25-9, 25-21) and Gainesville (25-18, 25-9) Thursday night to improve its record to 17-7.
Ansley Roper had six aces and 16 assists while Hallye Jerkins had 10 aces and 11 kills. Sara Dempsey had eight aces and three kills while Cami Lawson had six kills.
Collins Hill sweeps Duluth, Peachtree Ridge
SUWANEE - Collins Hill topped Duluth 25-7, 25-12 and cruised past Peachtree Ridge 25-13, 25-13 on
Chelsea Proffitt had five kills and Jessica Young had six kills. Morgan Wimmer had four kills while Kelsey Foster had six assists and six aces.
Celia Burns had three kills and three blocks to improve Collins Hill's record to 16-13 overall and 3-1 in area play.
Peachtree Ridge rolled past Duluth (25-9, 24-26, 25-17) Thursday night.
Katie Kjerrguaard had seven aces and eight digs while Lindsey Ajala had seven kills and two solo blocks. Nicole Louchart added 12 assists.
GAC splits with Brookwood, Decatur
LILBURN - Greater Atlanta Christian topped Brookwood (16-25, 26-24, 25-16) but fell to Decatur (20-25, 25-18, 18-25) on Thursday night.
D'Nay Daniels had 26 kills and seven blocks while Ashley Agin had 18 kills and seven aces. Alex Shelton had 55 assists to help improve GAC's record to 29-4.
Brookwood beat Decatur (25-23, 25-16, 25-19) to improve its record to 17-11.
Kelsey Gratton had seven kills and four aces while Paige Slusser had 10 kills and two aces. Kalin DeMarrais had 10 kills and five aces while Abby Kroll had 33 assists and four aces.
Mill Creek splits with Shiloh, Whitewater
HOSCHTON - Mill Creek defeated Shiloh 25-15, 21-25, 25-15 but fell to White Water 25-23, 20-25, 16-25 on Thursday.
Emily Clayton had 28 digs while Ashley Vaughan had 40 assists. Olivia Day added 13 kills to improve Mill Creek's record to 21-5.
It was the final match for seniors Tatum Weber, Erin Graham, Heather Dorough, Ashley Vaughan, Emily Clayton, Kelley Samples and Christina Jerigin.
Shiloh fell to Whitewater 25-18, 25-10.
Providence sweeps Grayson, South
SNELLVILLE - Providence cruised past Grayson (25-22, 20-25, 25-22) and South Gwinnett (25-17, 25-15) Thursday night.
Lindsay Meredith had 15 consecutive serves, four aces and four kills while Casey Macke had five aces, eight kills and five blocks.
Asheton Ward had three aces, three kills and two blocks to improve Providence's record to 20-10.
Berkmar goes down twice
ATLANTA - Bermar fell to Druid Hills (21-25, 25-23) and Lakeside (25-21, 25-22) Thursday.
Tyra Smith had six kills and five aces and four tips while Brittany Wilson had two blocks and two kills.
Central falls to Dacula, Milton
ALPHARETTA - Central lost to Dacula (23-25, 20-25) and Milton (15-25, 6-25) on Thursday.
Melissa Handac had eight kills and Aida Smajic had 10 assists. Amanda Drescher added five kills.
Hebron falls to Atlanta International
ATLANTA - Hebron fell to Atlanta International School in both matches 23-25, 13-25 and 16-25, 13-25 on Thursday night.
Victoria Whitley had two blocks, two aces and four kills while Sarah Hedrick had three aces. Lizzie Cohen had six kills while Madelyn Hosch added four kills.
