Man arrested after motorists say he danced in middle of road

•LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville man was charged Monday for dancing in the middle of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and obstructing traffic.

Police arrived to investigate complaints from motorists at 10:40 a.m. and found Carlos Smith, 35, had moved to a grassy area next to the road. He reportedly continued to dance and also appeared to be talking to himself, according to a police report.

Smith then walked back onto the roadway and began "flipping off" passing drivers, the report said. Smith allegedly told officers he was walking home, but he could not state where home was. He was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge.

Men rob couple at gunpoint

•NORCROSS - A trio of unidentified men broke into a Norcross apartment complex Monday and robbed a couple at gunpoint.

The victims told police that a heavyset black man kicked in their door at 6 p.m. and then walked straight to a rear bedroom to see if anyone else was in the apartment. A second suspect, described only as an Asian man, began searching the home for money while a third "skinny" man carrying two guns ordered the man and woman to lie down.

The suspects stole money from the man's wallet and several DVDs. After about 15 minutes, they ran outside, jumped over a wall behind an adjacent building and fled in a gray Chevrolet Impala. All three suspects wore masks, the police report stated.

Man charged with possession

•NORCROSS - A Jefferson man was arrested Monday after being caught with a bag full of crystal methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

An officer driving on Oakbrook Parkway ran a check on the license plate of a Chrysler Concorde traveling in front of him and learned it had no valid insurance. After he stopped the vehicle, the officer noticed a lot of furtive movement in the back seat, where 27-year-old Christopher Martin Lee was sitting.

The driver, a front-seat passenger and Lee were asked to exit the car. Lee was "visibly nervous," avoiding eye contact with the officer, shaking uncontrollably and sweating, a police report stated. Lee then began jostling his left leg vigorously and manipulating his jeans. A clear plastic bag containing about 30 grams crystal meth fell onto the ground. When confronted about the drugs, he admitted he was a drug addict, the police report stated.

He was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and abandonment of a controlled substance.
