Man accused of shoplifting beer
SNELLVILLE - A Snellville man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly shoplifted beer from a grocery store and then got drunk in the bathroom.
Police found Dexter Gerard Moses in the bathroom of Kroger at 4002 Stone Mountain Highway, his shorts down around his ankles. Moses was "incoherent" and so intoxicated he had to lean against the sink for support, according to a police report.
Moses insisted he had done nothing wrong. A half-empty bottle of beer was on the floor and an empty 12-pack was in the garbage. Employees told police Moses didn't purchase the beer. On two prior occasions, Moses had been caught shoplifting beer in the same store and ordered not to return.
He was arrested on charges of shoplifting, loitering and criminal trespass.

After being pressed about several details of the carjacking, Stevenson admitted she had given away her truck. Stevenson was charged with making a false report and pedestrian under the influence.
Patient fights hospital staff
LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville man fought with several employees Wednesday while being involuntarily committed for psychiatric treatment at Gwinnett Medical Center.
The 23-year-old threw a chair and another piece of medical equipment at hospital security. When an officer arrived, the man was being held down by four staff members and placed into leg restraints.
He was threatening the lives of staffers and told one person he wanted to have sex with his dog, a police report said. The man then reportedly asked an officer to shoot him because he wanted to commit "suicide by cop."
Shortly after being restrained, the man managed to free his right hand and tried to bite a security staffer in the arm, the report said. The officer sprayed him with pepper spray and he became compliant.
