Mr. David C. Thompson, age 58, of Buford, GA, passed away on September 19, 2006. Surviving are: Wife of 28 Years: Judy Mengwasser Thompson, Buford, GA; Step-Children: Judy Collins, Baton Rouge, LA, Jim and Sally Mengwasser, Buford, GA, Jeff Mengwasser, Buford, GA, John Mengwasser & Denise Smith, Lawrenceville, GA; Grandchildren: Ashley and Jim Mengwasser; Brother and Sister-in-Law: Dannie and Brenda Thompson, Knoxville, TN; Sister and Brother-in-Law: Patty and Howard Rhea, Sever County, TN. Mr. Thompson was born on January 29, 1948 in Loudon, Tennessee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Viet Nam from 1969-1970 in the 25th Infantry Division. He was employed with American Isuzu Motors Sunbrand, Martin Sprocket Gear. He was a member of the Norcross Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Yaarab Temple. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Duren officiating. Graveside service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. Inez Alderman Veal, age 82 of Buford passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Frances Malcom Knight, 90 of Monroe died Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Alice Malcom and her husband, John Hester Knight. Frances is survived by her only child, her son: John Herman Knight; daughter-in-law: Kate Atha Knight, Lawrenceville; granddaughters: Kim Knight Booth, LaGrange Illinois, and Kaye Knight Klaer, Lawrenceville; great grandchildren: Brittany Kaye Booth, Katherine Rae Booth, and William Bryan Booth, LaGrange, Illinois, Kimberly Marie Klaer and Jonathan Andrew Klaer, Lawrenceville; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Julia Malcom, Social Circle; five nieces and nephews. Frances retired from Carwood Manufacturing in Monroe after 42 years of service. Frances' greatest love was her family, friends and church. She loved to talk with her friends, cook and garden. The loving support she received from the Ebenezer Church congregation and LifeCare Center of Lawrenceville gave her immense happiness throughout her life. Thomas Eugene Willis, Sr., 77, of 2164 Old Highway 11, Round Oak, GA, died Monday, September 18, 2006. Services were held Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 2:00PM at Sunshine United Methodist Church, Round Oak, GA, with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Macon. In lieu of flowers, the family has

Born in 1928 in Macon, GA, Mr. Willis was the son of George A. Willis, Jr. and Frances Brown Willis. He attended schools in Macon and was a 1946 graduate of Lanier High School. Mr. Willis enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving from 1946-1949 on the USS Bexar. He then attended Mercer University. He moved to Duluth, GA in 1952 where he married and had five children. In 1988, he moved to Round Oak, GA in Jones County where he lived the remainder of his life. Survivors: Children, Kay Willis Montgomery and Gin Willis, both of Duluth, GA, Tom Willis of Suwanee, GA and Gary Willis of Dawsonville, GA; Grandchildren, Wynn Montgomery, Malcolm Montgomery, Mimi Thornton, Jay Thornton, Ali Willis and Kacey Willis; Brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Dean Willis and Robert and Jackie Willis, all of Macon.
