Benjamin F. Laughlin, 72, of 710 N. Lafayette St. Shelby, N. C. 28150 formerly of Lawrenceville, Ga., passed away September 14, 2006. He was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from Mercury Marine as a controller. Ben was a former deacon at Mountain Park Baptist Church in Lilburn, Ga. Preceded in death by his parents Ruffin C. and Eva Spangler Laughlin, sister, Geneva Laughlin McCoy, Brothers, Reid, Alton, Wayne Laughlin. Survived by his wife Ruth Glandon Laughlin of the home, two sons, Steven H. and wife Jenifer Laughlin of Monroe, Ga. and Daniel Laughlin and wife Kristi of Tucker, Ga. Grandchildren, Joshua Madison and Benjamin Tucker Laughlin and Edie of Monroe and Denver Jackson Laughlin of Tucker, Ga. A memorial service will be Sunday at 3:00 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel in Shelby, N. C. with the Rev. Joshua Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
