Tax commissioner names new leaders

Gwinnett's tax commissioner has appointed a new director for the motor

vehicles department.

Anthony Buffum will replace Charles Martin, who retired on July 31 after more than 20 years in that position.

Buffum previously served as the branch manager at the Lawrenceville tag office. He has been with the tax commissioner's office for eight years and has more than 30 years management experience.

"I am strongly committed to our mission and dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service to each and every customer," Buffum said.

Richard Steele was appointed as senior manager of the Lawrenceville branch. He was previously the manager for the Snellville tag office.
