Man and woman shot in car

•NORCROSS - A Lawrenceville woman and a Norcross man were shot Monday night during a confrontation near Indian Trail and Singleton roads.

According to a Gwinnett County police report, the man and woman were driving in their SUV when they said a black car pulled up next to them and a passenger began displaying gang signs.

The victims said they decided to ignore the person when another passenger started shooting at them.

The woman suffered a gunshot wound to her right tricep, and the male victim a wound to his left bicep.

Both victims were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and were released Monday.

Police and crime scene investigators are continuing investigations.

Man takes nap in middle of road

•DULUTH - A Duluth man held up traffic Sunday evening when he was found by police lying in the middle of Boggs Road.

The man, identified as Rogellia Salazar, 29, was guided off the roadway by a Gwinnett County police officer and

questioned.

According to the police report, Salazar admitted to consuming five beers 30 minutes prior to the incident and said he was sleeping in the road because he was tired.

Salazar was arrested for disorderly conduct on Sunday and was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail. He was released

Monday.
