LAWRENCEVILLE - Police are searching for a motive in the shooting death of a day-laborer on his way to work Saturday morning, Lawrenceville police Capt. Greg Vaughn said.
At 8:59 a.m. Saturday, police found Samuel Hernadez's body in a driveway in front of 98 Forest Place, which is off Grayson Highway Vaughn said. The 34-year-old lived at 151 Forest Place, just down the street from the crime scene. When his roommates returned home after work that evening, they told police they last saw Hernadez when he left about 5:30 or 6 a.m. to go to a nearby QuikTrip, where day-laborers are frequently picked up for work. Vaughn said a neighbor remembered hearing shots, but the police have not found a witness, suspect or motive in the slaying. Hernadez was shot in the upper torso and shell casings were found nearby, Vaughn said. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Lawrenceville Police Department at 770-963-2443.More like this story
