SUWANEE - A tractor-trailer jackknifed on Interstate 85 Friday afternoon, which caused traffic to back up for at least two hours.
Lt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department, said the incident occurred on I-85 South, just north of Old Peachtree Road, around 12:30 p.m. Traffic on I-85 South and Interstate 985 South was backed up as far north as Buford at one point. One lane was reopened at 1:18 p.m., allowing traffic to move slowly on both interstates. The rest of the lanes were reopened at 2:13 p.m., Rutledge said. Two people were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with injuries, but no information on their conditions was available at press time.More like this story
