Man charged in Buford Arby's robbery

•BUFORD - A Duluth man was arrested Friday and charged with robbing the Arby's restaurant drive-through at 4145 Buford Drive.

Alrazi Amir Bashir, 17, brandished a gun after pulling up to the window at 9 p.m. in a white Lincoln Town Car, according to a police report. He told the cashier to hand him the cash drawer and then drove away.

An officer in the area noticed Bashir's vehicle matched a description that had been broadcast over the radio by police dispatchers. When pulled over, Bashir admitted to robbing the restaurant, a police report said.

A revolver was found in the front passenger seat, along with a cash drawer that still had money in the slots and an Arby's paper sack. Bashir was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

41-year-old attacked at grocery store

•LAWRENCEVILLE - A 41-year-old Lawrenceville man was attacked Sunday by four young men at the Publix grocery store at 3259 Lawrenceville Highway.

The teens approached the victim as he was getting out of his car at 10:30 p.m., according to a police report. One of the men said something the victim didn't understand, and he asked, "What did you say?" a police report stated.

They then began to surround the victim. He shoved one of the teens, and then another swung at the victim with a cutting instrument. The victim's bottom lip was sliced, a police report said.

The victim fell to his knees, and the young men ran away in an unknown direction. The victim was treated at Gwinnett Medical Center for the cut to his lip.

Police: Man exposed himself in rest area

•BUFORD - A 34-year-old Buford man was arrested Friday on charges he lewdly exposed himself to an undercover police officer at the Interstate 85 South rest area.

Police set up a sting operation at the rest area after receiving several complaints about men exposing themselves in the bathroom and harassing other men in a sexual manner, a police report said. An investigator was sitting at an outdoor table when Trung Minh Le sat down beside him.

Le told the officer he was "just hanging out until he had to go back to work," the police report said. After a brief conversation, Le went to the bathroom. The officer waited a few minutes and then followed Le inside.

The officer saw Le standing at a urinal and went into a bathroom stall. After the officer emerged, Le allegedly exposed his genitals and began masturbating in front of the officer.

Le was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge.
