Prep roundup: Providence's Reiswig shuts out Landmark 10-0, tosses one-hitter

LILBURN - Providence Christian's Hannah Reiswig (3-5) pitched a one-hitter, striking out nine to shut out Landmark Christian 10-0 Tuesday night.

Offensively, Reiswig was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Courtney Frazier was 2-for-3 with two RBI doubles. Cory Rodgers was 1-for-2 with two RBI singles and two runs while Brittany Ellington was 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a run to improve Providence's record to 15-9 overall and 5-1 in region.

SOFTBALL

North 10, South Forsyth 4

SUWANEE - North Gwinnett's Emily Althafer came in for the last 32⁄3 innings, giving up no runs and striking out four to help top South Forsyth 10-4 Tuesday night.

Althafer went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs while Samantha Rao went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. North Gwinnett is now 17-10 overall and will move on to the second round of the region tournament.

Buford 7, Decatur 1

BUFORD - Jesse Groves (13-4) gave up eight hits, one earned run, and struck out eight to help Buford defeat Decatur 7-1 Tuesday.

Offensively, Groves was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Whitney Holman went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs. Melissa Higginbotham was 2-for-2 with two runs while catcher Ashley Razey was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Buford's record improved to 20-7 overall and 9-1 in region play. The Wolves will play in the region tournament Friday night at Buford.

Athens Christian 5, Hebron 0

ATHENS - Hebron Christian fell to Athens Christian 5-0 Tuesday night.

Nichole Smith was the losing pitcher and Hebron's region record goes to 4-4.

Wesleyan 12, Woodward 3

NORCROSS - Wesleyan defeated Woodward 12-3 Tuesday night and improved its record to 17-8.

GAC sweeps Parkview, Peachtree Ridge

LILBURN - Greater Atlanta Christian swept Parkview (25-11, 25-14) and Peachtree Ridge (25-12, 25-19) Tuesday night.

D'Nay Daniels had 13 kills and five blocks while Ashley Agin had 10 kills. Jennifer Godleski had eight kills while Alex Shelton had 27 assists and six aces as GAC improves its record to 31-4.

It was senior night for the Panthers as they defeated Peachtree Ridge in three matches (19-25, 25-9, 29-27).

Seniors Marissa Hicks had 16 kills while Caroline Dean had 21 assists. Karrie Hayden had 13 digs while Courtney Kelly had four assists. Leslie Lewis had two blocks while Kacie Crowley had three digs. Maggie Bean added four digs for Parkview.

Collins Hill tops Grayson, Dacula

DACULA - Collins Hill cruised past Grayson (25-11, 23-25, 25-11) and Dacula (25-18, 25-19) Tuesday night to improve its record to 18-13.

Chelsea Proffitt had 12 kills while Jessica Young had 13 kills. Kelsey Foster had five kills, 32 assists, and seven aces while Jennifer Daniels had five kills, five assists and three aces. Alex Olney added six kills.

Killian Hill defeats Mount Vernon

LILBURN - Killian Hill won three out of five matches Tuesday night to top Mount Vernon 17-25, 25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 15-11 and clinch first place.

Carrie Chambers had 24 kills and six serving aces while Asha Lakra had 24 kills. Anna Niarchos had 26 kills while Allyson Trine had 36 kills. Killian Hill is 6-0 in region.

Norcross sweeps Central, South

NORCROSS - Tuesday was senior night at Norcross as it swept Central Gwinnett (25-17, 25-14) and South Gwinnett (25-12, 25-14).

Senior Katie Dahl had 13 assists while senior Ainsley Hatten had three aces and six kills. August Rhea had 15 digs while Tiffany Clarke had nine kills and 31⁄2 blocks. Hannah Nelson had 13 kills and two blocks to improve Norcross' record to 29-9.

Central Gwinnett cruised past South Gwinnett 25-10, 25-22 on Tuesday.

Aida Smajic had four assists and four aces while Rachel Johnson had six kills. Laura Milardo had three aces and J.J. Kearney added four digs. Central improves to 15-18 overall.

Wesleyan topsStarr's Mill, Woodward

COLLEGE PARK - Wesleyan rolled past Starr's Mill (25-20, 17-25, 25-22) and Woodward Academy (27-25, 25-18) Tuesday, to improve its record to 33-13.

Caiti Troyer had 38 assists while Rachel Galloway had nine kills. Betsy Smith had 20 kills while Anne Marie Armstrong had 11 kills.

Mill Creek splits with Brookwood, Whitewater

SNELLVILLE - Mill Creek topped Brookwood 27-25, 25-11 but fell to Whitewater 18-25, 25-23, 22-25 Tuesday night.

Ashley Vaughan led Mill Creek with five aces and 24 assists and Kelley Samples had 15 kills. Emily Clayton had 35 digs as Mill Creek's' record improves to 22-6.

Brookwood defeated Whitewater 25-13, 23-25, 25-23 on Tuesday.

Paige Slusser had eight kills and four aces while Kalin DeMarrais had nine kills and two aces. Abby Kroll had 27 assists and two kills while Sam MacFarlane had 11 kills.

Shiloh splits with North, Buford

SUWANEE - Shiloh cruised past North Gwinnett 25-20, 17-25, 25-21 Tuesday night.

Jessica Baker had 37 digs and three aces while Brittney Johnson had 16 assists. Shukriyyah Johnson had six kills and four blocks while Jenny Arrants had 15 digs and five kills.

Buford defeated Shiloh 25-19, 25-19 as it improved its record 18-8 on Tuesday.

Hallye Jerkins had nine kills while Cammi Lawson had 14 kills and three blocks. Angela Morgan had 18 digs while Ansley Roper had 22 assists.

North Gwinnett fell to Buford 26-24, 25-21.

Killian Hill 9, Grace Christian 0

FAYETTEVILLE - Mac Hildebrand had three goals for Killian Hill to help shutout Grace Christian 9-0 Tuesday night.

Chris Williams and Steven Sokohl each had two goals while Zach Brownfield and Paul Hudson both had one goal. Jon Clute was the goal keeper and Killian Hill's record is now 10-0.
