Mrs. Iva Cooley, age 84 of Duluth, GA, passed away on November 21, 2006. She is survived by: Sons: Rex Howell Newborn of Duncanville, AL, Dr. J. Scott Newborn of Atlanta; Daughters & Son-in-Law: Wanda & Danny Farrar of Duluth, Rebecca Susan Bell of Lawrenceville; Grandchildren: Dr. Joshua & Dr. Emily Farrar of Charleston, SC, Ashley Robin Newborn of New York City, NY, Rebecca Lauryl Bell of Lilburn; Sister: Mrs. Lela Rowland of Corinth, MS; Several Nieces & Nephews. Mrs. Cooley was born on a farm in Mississippi in 1922 and left the farm to join the WWII effort as a "Rosie the Riveter" at a shipyard in Mobile, AL. Most of her life she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by former husbands, Rex Newborn, Sr., Willie Shipes & W.D. Cooley; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She spent much of her married life in the Columbus, Georgia area where she worked for Fieldcrest Industries and was a member of Rosehill Church of Christ. She lived the last five years of her life in the Atlanta area where she was a member of Campus Church of Christ in Norcross. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Plantation South in Duluth for their special care and concern of Mrs. Cooley. Private memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Tom M. Mr. Clayton was a veteran of the Korean War Conflict serving in the U.S. Air Force, loved fishing, enjoyed bowling, football and basketball. He & Eoline were married in Kannapolis, moved to Greenville, West Columbia, SC and then Lawrenceville, GA for just over 40 years before returning to Kannapolis in 2000. He is survived by his: Wife: Velma Eoline Provost Clayton; Son: Larry Clayton, Atlanta, GA; Sister-in-law, Brothers-in-law, Special neighbor and Special friend, and a number of nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen C.
