George W. (Bill) Johnson, Jr., 61, of Duluth, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, following an illness of several months. He was born Apr. 21, 1945 in Troup County, son of the late G. Warren Johnson, Sr. and Florence Culpepper Johnson. Growing up in Hogansville, he was a member of the First Methodist Church, graduated from Hogansville High School and attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, prior to serving 4 years in the U. S. Navy. He was an independent building contractor in the metro Atlanta area and most recently supervised the building of offices for Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Waters Johnson of Duluth, sisters, Nancy Gray and Rosalind Edmondson of Lone Oak, several nephews and nieces in Newnan, and close cousin, Eleanor C. Willingham of Lone Oak. A memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Norcross. There will be a celebration in memory of Bill at Nemoe's Restaurant, 6025 Peachtree Parkway, Norcross, following the service. An interment service will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, at Allen-Lee Cemetery in the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County.
