DULUTH - A construction worker was killed after falling about 20 feet Tuesday.
The man, whose name was not available at press time, was installing a cornice on the roof of a house that was under construction in the Sugarloaf Country Club, said Lt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department.
The man was working from a wooden platform that was supported by two ladders, Rutledge said. Firefighters responded to Moye Trail after receiving a call at 5:33 p.m., where the man was found dead.
Firefighters contacted the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Rutledge said, and turned the scene over to the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for the department, did not respond to several requests for more information about the incident.
