SNELLVILLE - Snellville police arrested a man Sunday on outstanding warrants after responding to a report of a kidnapping.
Cpl. Tim Colgan, spokesman for the Snellville Police Department, said his department received a call from Lumpkin County police that James T. Myers, 29, of Snellville had possibly kidnapped a woman and was allegedly armed.
After obtaining a warrant to search Myers' home, police determined the report to be false. Police found the suspected kidnapped woman to be Myers' girlfriend, who told police she was not being held against her will.
Colgan said Snellville police did not arrest Myers on any charges associated with the alleged kidnapping, but an arrest was made for outstanding warrants for Myers' arrest in Forsyth County for alleged prescription fraud and forgery.
Snellville police handed Myers over to the Forsyth County police Sunday.
