PETERSON, CHARLES

Charles Sanders Peterson passed away on October 21, 2006 at his home in Duluth, Georgia. He was born October 7, 1941 in Johnson City, Tennessee. Charles was a graduate of Science Hill High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Charles had made his home in Georgia for many years. He retired from Forrester Smith following a career as a sales representative. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He was an active member of Duluth First United Methodist Church, where he initiated the Mobile Meals Ministry and worked with the United Methodist Men, Prayer Ministry, Homebound ministry, SOS and Wesley Sunday School Classes. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, D.C. and Margaret Painter Peterson and brothers, Joel F. Peterson of Johnson City and Kenneth G. "Pete" Peterson of Altamonte Springs, Florida. He is survived by brothers William "Mack" Peterson and wife Cookie of Moses Lake WA, David C. Peterson and wife Diane of Charlotte NC, and his very special sister-in-law Joanne Peterson of Johnson City. He is survived by nephews Pete Peterson, Brad Peterson, Alan Peterson, Jeff Peterson, and nieces Susan Peterson, Carla Peterson Hoffman, Tammy Weedman, Tracey Welker, Sherry Martin, Erin Peterson and Kyle Peterson. A Memorial service will be held at the Duluth First United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday November 19, 2006.
