DULUTH - Duluth police determined Friday that suicide was the cause of death of a man found in a house fire Thursday.
The man, identified as Michael Grassi, 47, was found by Gwinnett County firefighters in his townhome at 4100 Ashford Green Drive in the Woodhaven at Chattahoochee Crossing complex in Duluth. Maj. Donald Woodruff, spokesman for the Duluth Police Department, said investigations concluded that Grassi died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Woodruff added that the previous arson investigation associated with Grassi's death has come to a halt, he said police believe the man set fire to his home before killing himself. Police are unsure of a motive for Grassi's actions. "Unfortunately we deal with a lot of (suicides) during this time of year," he said.More like this story
