Man steals liquor from golf course
•DACULA - A man was caught on video surveillance taking bottles of alcohol from the Dacula Hamilton Mill Golf Course on Monday.
According to a police report, a white man with blond hair entered the golf course at 1995 Hamilton Mill Parkway through a drive-through window, taking nearly $100 of miscellaneous liquor.
Police are waiting to receive video surveillance from the business to continue their investigations.
•NORCROSS - A Lavenel, N.J., man was arrested and charged with assaulting and robbing a Norcross man Monday.
David M. Sterlacci, 24, of 80 Commercial Ave. was taken to the Gwinnett County jail after allegedly breaking the victim's bedroom window and cutting and hitting him with a pair of scissors. Police said the suspect was also delusional.
According to a police report, Sterlacci used to be a resident of the Bristol Point subdivision, a drug rehabilitation center and halfway house, but was kicked out prior to the incident.
The victim was treated at the scene.
Home robbed of DVDs, electronics
•NORCROSS - A Norcross woman's home was robbed of nearly $2,000 worth of electronics and entertainment equipment Monday afternoon.
The woman told police she believes the suspects entered her Hoy Taylor Road home from an unlocked window in the rear of her kitchen.
According to a police report, items such as Nintendo games, a Dell laptop computer and numerous DVDs were taken from her home.
She told police she suspects that teenagers were the ones who entered her home because of the nature of the items stolen.
Apartment home burglarized
•LAWRENCEVILLE - Two Wesley Place apartment dwellers believe maintenance workers are responsible for robbing their home of roughly $4,000 worth of electronics Monday morning.
The victims told police they are the only ones who have keys to the apartment besides the resident's maintenance personnel. The two residents said all doors to the apartment were locked when they left Monday morning. Police said there were no signs of forced entry, but found the bedroom window open.
False prescription forms reported
•WINDER - A Winder doctor's office has received three calls about individuals allegedly attempting to pass forged prescriptions in Lawrenceville.
Winder police report that the doctor gave the woman a prescription for Darvocet and Lortab. Since then, three Lawrenceville pharmacies have reported the woman or a man allegedly attempting to buy Lortab, Flexaril, Soma and Lorcet with an allegedly altered prescription form from the doctor's office.
Police are searching for the woman.
Woman charged with shoplifting
•WINDER - An off-duty employee entered the Kangaroo on East May Street and found Felicia Hill, who did not work there, behind the counter. The clerk on duty was in the bathroom. The off-duty employee told Hill to get out from behind the counter. After the woman left, the clerk reported 40 Slots of Luck lottery tickets missing.
Hill returned to the Kangaroo the next night and the clerk called police. Officers arrested Hill for an outstanding warrant on file with the Barrow County Sheriff's Department and on a charge of shoplifting.
Student charged with battery
•WINDER - A Winder Barrow Middle School student was being escorted to the office for unruly behavior when he grabbed the paraprofessional by the shoulders. The student attempted to throw her to the ground. The parapro got away, ran into the office and called for help.
A Winder police officer charged the student with simple battery on a school employee, disruption of a public school and unruly juvenile. He was transported to the Regional Youth Detention Center in Gainesville.
Cement mixer reported stolen
•WINDER - A contractor reported a yellow Stowe cement mixer missing from the Winder Barrow High School construction site. He told police the mixer was valued at $2,500.
