James C. Bailey, 68 of Lincolnton passed Sat., Nov. 11, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Bailey; 2 daughters, Shere' Owens, Braselton, and Shellie Owens, Gainesville; 4 beautiful grandchildren Whitney Owens and Kassidee Owens, Gainesville, Tyler Smith and Courtney Owens, Braselton; 1 brother, Harold Bailey, Buford; 3 sisters, Linda Fletcher, and husband, John, Altoona, Al., June Gentile, Charleston, SC, Susie Theil, and husband, George of Suwanee, Ga., a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Alvin Cox, Mike Hawkes, and the Michael Mongrue family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Bailey, brother, Eugene Bailey, and sister, Nancy Samples. Mr. Bailey was born in Atlanta and moved to Duluth in the early 1960's where he was self employed by Bailey Brothers, Inc. He had a successful drywall business for over 40 years. He was an Army veteran and an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and to fish. The body was cremated with private services for immediate family only. Rilla Shelton Samples, age 88 of Buford, GA, died Monday, November 13, 2006 after an extended illness. Funeral Service will be Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Wayne Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford. Rilla retired from the Georgia Dept. of Revenue and returned to Buford in 1996. She was an active member of Buford First Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School director and teacher, Outreach for Cradle Roll and GA Leader. During her years in Atlanta (1970 to 1996) she was an active member of Second-Ponce De Leon Baptist Church. She was most involved in Eastern Star, Jr. Woman's Club and PTA as her girls grew up in Buford and well known for baking a cake if you dropped in for a visit. Mrs. Elmore, a native of Emanuel County, GA was an information operator for Bell South for 31 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Suwanee. Jacquelyne "Jackie" Moss McCurdy, age 67 of Loganville, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 after an extended battle with cancer. During the 1980's she worked with Tony Moncrief repairing and cosmetizing mannequins for department stores. She continued her artistic talent by painting pictures for her family and decorating her home with the lovely paintings. She also decorated the children's play room at Dr. William Delp's office in Loganville with a mural of Garfield the cat.
