BUFORD - The Gwinnett County Police Department's Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a crash in which a Dacula man died Friday night after the car he was driving struck a tree, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, the police spokesman.
Justin Curtas, 18, was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile on Bart Johnson Road near Ridge Road when he apparently lost control of the car and ran off the roadway, hitting a tree, Moloney said. Speed appears to be the main contributing factor to the incident, Moloney said. Alcohol does not appear to be involved, he said. Curtas was pronounced dead at the scene, and his five teenaged passengers were taken to various hospitals, Moloney said. The passengers are all expected to survive their injuries. None of the car's occupants was wearing a seat belt, Moloney said.More like this story
