SNELLVILLE - Police are seeking a man believed to have assaulted a woman in her home, tying her up and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money in her car.
Larry Marvin Smith Jr., 40, of Hopeville, believed to be the victim's ex-boyfriend, is still on the run and is wanted by police, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Police have secured warrants against Smith on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, false imprisonment and theft by taking motor vehicle, Moloney said.
According to the warrants, the incident occurred at the victim's home at 3608 Mansfield Lane in Snellville between the hours of 9 and 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 3.
While inside the victim's home, Smith is believed to have hit her over the head with an iron skillet, bound her hands and feet with a cell phone cord and an iron cord and fled with an undisclosed amount of money in the victim's 2002 maroon Mercury Cougar.
The victim at some point freed herself and walked to the home of a neighbor, who called 911, Moloney said.
