LAWRENCEVILLE - Investigators are looking for a man who robbed a Lawrenceville Wachovia on Wednesday morning.
The suspect entered the bank, armed with a handgun, and announced he was robbing the bank. "No shots were fired and no injuries were reported," said Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. The man fled the scene in a tan colored Oldsmobile with an undisclosed amount of money from the bank's vault. His vehicle was found by Gwinnett County Police about a half-mile away in a church parking lot. Police noted that a dye pack exploded in the vehicle during the suspect's getaway. Gwinnett County authorities are processing the car, which was reported stolen from the Lilburn area earlier in the week. Video surveillance has been obtained from the bank. The suspect is described as a black man, 20 to 30 years old, wearing black pants, a black trench coat, black boots, a white straw hat and sunglasses. He was carrying a black semi-automatic handgun. Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Atlanta FBI Office at 404-697-9000.More like this story
