Man with knife robs Checker's

•DULUTH - A Duluth Checker's was robbed Saturday morning as an employee was closing the business.

A 51-year-old female employee was in the back of the restaurant when she was approached by a black man dressed in black, armed with a knife demanding money.

According to a police report, the man said he would kill the victim if she did not give him all the money in the restaurant's safe.

The suspect took nearly $2,000 out of the safe and made the victim wait in the freezer until he was gone.

The victim was not injured and was able to let herself out of the freezer and call police.

Armed pair robs Norcross man

•DULUTH - A Norcross man was robbed by two armed men Saturday morning.

According to a police report, two men approached the victim from behind, demanding money and anything of value.

The two men led the victim into a nearby apartment and took $150, his car keys and a cell phone from the man.

When police arrived to the scene he was bleeding form his left thumb and from the back.

He suffered no life-threatening injuries and refused medical treatment.

Missing boy found in Buford

•BUFORD - A 13-year-old boy was missing for over an hour at the Lower Pool Park on Buford Dam Road Saturday.

The boy had been visiting the area with his family and was not familiar with the area.

He was found by authorities around 6 p.m. and was reunited with his family.

Mobile home catches fire

•LAWRENCEVILLE - Firefighters arrived to find flames engulfing a single-wide mobile home on Overlook Drive in Lawrenceville on Monday.

Firefighters were able to control the fire quickly and extinguish the blaze.

The occupant of the home was not injured and no other injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
