Robert "Bob" Murphy, age 43 of Dacula, formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. He taught Social Studies at Osbourne Middle School and was a Doctorial Candidate at University of Georgia. He is survived by his wife: Shelby L. R. B. (Bee) Elsberry, age 88, of Lilburn, GA, died October 31, 2006. The funeral will be Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11 am in the Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. Born on November 15, 1918 in Dallas, GA, he was a retired manager of Substation and Transmission Construction for Georgia Power Company, retiring in 1981 after 44 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII where he was a Fire Control Technician 1st class aboard the USS CAPPS (DD 550) in WWII and was recalled to active duty during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Elsberry graduated from Georgia Tech and the Woodrow College of Law. He was an avid and lifelong fan and supporter of Georgia Tech Sports and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lilburn where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Preceded in death in 2000 by his wife of 63 years, Polly Tomlin Elsberry, he is survived by his five grown children, Linda Elsberry O'Shields of Clayton, GA, Bob Elsberry and wife, Peggy of Powder Springs, GA, Penny Elsberry Buice and husband, Dennis of Hoschton, GA, Peggy Elsberry Britt and husband, Neal of Duluth, GA, Billy Elsberry and wife, Carol of Buford, GA; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
