DULUTH - Mark your calendars now for a date with a rock legend.
Eric Clapton will perform Oct. 14 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, part of the first leg of an American tour. The Robert Cray band is scheduled to open the show. Clapton's latest release is "Back Home," his first album of original songs in several years. He's known for his masterful guitar playing and hits such as "Layla," "I Shot the Sheriff" and "Cocaine." Tickets will be available at www.ticketmaster.com, but prices and an on-sale date have not been announced. The arena has announced several big concerts in recent weeks, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Oct. 26 and two "American Idols Live!" stops, on Aug. 3 and Sept. 12.
