NORCROSS - A Subway employee was shot twice during an armed robbery Tuesday night.
Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department, said two people entered the sandwich shop at 4015 Holcombe Bridge Road at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. One person reportedly jumped the counter, pulled a silver revolver from his waist and demanded money from the safe. When the store clerk said he did not have the safe's combination, the man was shot in the leg, Moloney said. The second person then tried to steal the clerk's wallet, Moloney said. When he resisted, the man with the gun shot him a second time, this time in the back. The two people reportedly fled the scene in a dark blue four-door Honda Accord driven by a white man. The two people who tried to rob the store were reportedly black men. Moloney said the victim is at the Gwinnett Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition. He asked that his identity not be released because he fears for his safety. Anyone with information about the offenders is asked to call Investigator Millsap at 770-513-5315.More like this story
