Man accused of attempted carjacking
•LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly rammed his car into a vehicle and then attempted to carjack another vehicle.
The 30-year-old man and several of his friends were driving in the parking lot of Riverside Exchange shopping center at 2100 Riverside Parkway when a 2004 Maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck slammed into their vehicle from behind, according to a police report. When the driver of the truck attempted to flee without stopping, the victim began to follow in an attempt to write down the license plate number.
The driver of the truck then circled around and rammed his truck into the victim's vehicle, the police report stated. The suspect stopped the truck, got out and attempted to carjack a concerned citizen who stopped to see if anyone needed help.
Both victims were able to hold the suspect down until police officers could arrive. William Vick, 42, was charged with DUI, theft by taking a motor vehicle aggravated assault and hit-and-run.
