Norcross woman arrested after food fight

•NORCROSS - A Norcross woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly threw food and wine at her boyfriend at their Kiveton Drive home.

The victim told police his live-in girlfriend was drunk and destroying things in the house. He claimed that Jacqueline C. Bates hit him in the back of the head with an onion, threw wine all over him and broke two televisions. She also reportedly threatened him several times.

Bates began crying when talking with an officer and said she was tired of living with the victim because he is deceptive and manipulative, according to a police report. She was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Man shoots at driver on I-85

•NORCROSS - An enraged motorist apparently fired a gun at another driver Thursday while traveling on Interstate 85 South near Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

The victim told police that the driver of a black truck started following him before he got on the highway, according to a police report. At a stoplight, the motorist got out, approached the victim, yelled a racial slur at him and threatened to kill him. It was unclear what prompted the angry outburst.

When the traffic light changed, the man followed the victim onto Interstate 85 and fired a gun at the victim while driving down the road. The bullet missed and the suspect drove away, the police report stated.

Man robs Arby's

•TUCKER - An unidentified man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black bandanna over his face robbed the Arby's restaurant Thursday at 6334 Lawrenceville Highway.

The robber reportedly confronted an employee at gunpoint at 9:40 p.m. and demanded money from the register drawers, according to a police report. He then ordered employees to lie on the floor before fleeing in a white van with another male accomplice.
