Brookwood's Guentert, Parkview's Kloes get top honors

Brookwood's Dana Guentert and Parkview's Nathan Kloes were selected as the tennis players of the year for Region 8-AAAAA in voting by the region's

coaches.

The Bronco girls also had the doubles team of the year in Paige Ivey and Lindsey Peyton while the boys doubles team of the year was Brookwood's Todd Hanner and Joey Kosciolek.

The All-Region girls team in singles featured Guentert and teammate Courtney McLane, along with Grayson's Sonia Anand. Ivey and Peyton made the doubles squad along with Grayson's Brittany Lewis and Whitley Lewis.

In boys, the all-region singles players were Kloes, South's Matt Baker and Parkview's Ryan Baker. In addition to Hanner and Kosciolek, Parkview's William Dove and Joseph Najjar also made the team in doubles.

Central Gwinnett girls coach Pam Autrey and Parkview boys coach Terry Cotton were picked as coaches of the year.

Singles players on the honorable mention list were Central's Jessica Skeels and Bryce Smith, Brookwood's Richard Eastwood, Meadowcreek's Eukee Kenaya and Shiloh's Christian Bellina. Doubles team earning honorable mention were: Berkmar's Andrew Huynh and Yuichi Ono, Grayson's Garrett Balkcom and Edward Kim, Berkmar's Cynthia Grant and Lauren Maness, Grayson's Lindsay Murano and Sarah Beth Britt and Parkview's Jessica Geiger and Kristen Garrett.
