•LAWRENCEVILLE - A 27-year-old Jonesboro man was arrested Sunday after he almost drove his car off Cruse Road at Bethesda Church Road.
An officer on patrol at 6:47 a.m. noticed a black Honda car parked over the curb of Cruse Road, hanging precariously over a cliff at an Amoco gas station, according to a police report.
The driver, Castro Alvarado, was unconscious at the wheel. The officer noticed beer bottles scattered on the floorboard of the vehicle and beer caps in the driver's arm rest. Alvarado reportedly admitted to drinking earlier that day.
He was charged with public drunkenness.
•NORCROSS - A Norcross woman scared away two would-be burglars Monday at Westwood Apartments on South Norcross Tucker Road.
The woman, 31, was upstairs in her room around 10:19 a.m. when she heard a noise in the hall. She peeked out her bedroom door and saw two men going inside another bedroom, according to a police report.
When the victim yelled for her mother to call police, the suspects heard her and ran out of the apartment. They are described as a Hispanic man in his late teens and a Hispanic woman with red hair. Both suspects wore a blue rag over their head, according to the resident's statement.
Police swept the house after the burglary and discovered a sliding window had been broken to gain access to the apartment and an upstairs dresser had been rummaged through. Nothing was taken.

•LAWRENCEVILLE - An angry motorist attacked a Lawrenceville man and his wife on Sunday near the intersection of Buford Drive and Allen Drive.
The victim, a 48-year-old man, and his 43-year-old wife were driving home around 5 p.m. when they were almost involved in an automobile accident with a 1997 black Ford Explorer. The driver of the Explorer then began driving aggressively and motioning for the couple to pull over, according to a police report.
The victim stopped and got out of his vehicle, at which point the other driver walked up and punched him several times. The wife attempted to stop the fight, but she was pushed out of the way.
The suspect left the scene before police could arrive. The man sustained several cuts to his nose and lip and went to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.
