LAWRENCEVILLE - Police are searching for a Lawrenceville man accused of impregnating his 16-year-old daughter.
Warrants have been issued against Early Arnold Connelly, 55, on two counts of rape and two counts of incest, according to Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman Darren Moloney.
Investigators in the department's Special Victims Unit began investigating when a mother brought her 16-year-old daughter to a metro Atlanta hospital.
When test results came back positive for pregnancy, the victim said she had been sexually assaulted by her biological father, Moloney said.
Investigators also believe the father sexually assaulted his 19-year-old stepdaughter, who is both physically and mentally disabled. The older teen is not pregnant, Moloney said.
Police believe the assaults occurred over a period of several years, ending in January when the mother and father separated.
Police believe Connelly is aware of the charges and is avoiding authorities. The department released a photo of Connelly taken in March of 2002, when he was arrested on a battery charge.
It is the policy of the Gwinnett Daily Post not to identify victims of sexual assault or juveniles, directly or indirectly. The victims do not share the accused's last name.
Anyone with direct knowledge of Connelly's whereabouts is asked to call 911. Those with information on his possible whereabouts should call 770-513-5300 and ask for a special victims unit investigator.
Earlier this month, the police department arrested 33-year-old Michael Wayne Wright, after investigators alleged he impregnated his 15-year-old daughter. Officials said DNA confirmed that Wright fathered the daughter's child.
Wright is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Police allege more than 100 incidents of molestation or sexual contact occurred over an eight-month period from August 2004 until March 2005, both at Wright's parents' Lawrenceville home and at a trailer in Jefferson.
