Mr. J. C. Cain Jr., age 61, of Buford, GA (Sardis Community), passed away March 21, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. C. Cain Sr. and Velma Cain Moore, and brother, Mack Stewart. He is survived by his: Daughter: Elizabeth Cain Jarrard; Step Daughter: Connie Cochran of Sugar Hill, GA; Grandson: Phillip Randall Cain of Buford, GA, James Thomas Jarrard; Sisters and Brother-in-Law: Leila Cain Blount, and husband, William, of Lawrenceville, GA, Sarah Stewart Waters of Melrose, FL; Step Grandchildren: Joy and Robert Venable III of Sugar Hill, GA, Ashley Cochran of Sugar Hill, GA; Four Step Great Grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Cain was a native of Gwinnett County, Buford, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former policeman and contractor in the building industry. He received his education at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Buford. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 3 P.M. at Antioch Baptist Church on Braselton Highway, Buford, with Rev. Raleigh Parks officiating. Mr. Jesse P. "Pa" Lord, age 89, of Buford, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Heard Lord; daughter, Betty Ann Ryder; sons, Jerry J. Lord and Jacky R. Lord. He is survived by his: Daughters and Sons-in-Law: Charlotte and Kenneth Allen, Sugar Hill, GA, Cindy and Keith Pass, Flowery Branch, GA; Son and Daughter-in-Law: Tony and Darlena Lord, Hoschton, GA; Daughter-in-Law: Juanita Lord, Lawrenceville, GA; 8 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Lord was born in Jackson County, GA on July 28, 1916. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was retired from Lockheed in Marietta, GA. He was a well know appliance repairman in the Buford area. He was a member of the Buford Masonic Lodge #292 F & AM and a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of the Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. James Thomas Burton, Jr., age 47 of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006. James previously owned and operated Little Jimmy's Meat Market in Dacula. He served as a Police Officer with the City of Lawrenceville, the City of Norcross and, as well, a Deputy with the Gwinnett Sheriff's Department. He is survived by his wife: Linda A. Burton; children: Jason L. Burton of Winder, GA, Amy Burton of Dacula, GA, Michelle L. Maddalena of Dawsonville, GA, A. J. & Jennifer Maddalena of Winder, GA; parents: James T. Sr. and Wylene Burton of Dacula, GA; brother & sister in law: Larry W. & Michelle Burton of Dacula, GA; sister & brother in law: Melinda & Danny Crowe of Dacula, GA; granddaughter: Katelynn Annabelle Maddalena; grandparents: J. Mildred Nash Shockley, age 81 of Loganville, GA died March 21, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Shockley, Jr. and is survived by her children, Patricia M. Shockley of Winder, Richard and Christine Shockley of Loganville, GA, David and Pam Shockley of Statham, GA, Donald Shockley of Morganton, GA; grandchildren, Scott Shockley, Lisa Shockley, Michelle Shockley; great granddaughter, Emma Grace Shockley. Mrs. Shockley was a member of Mountain Park First Baptist Church and an active member of the traveling senior church choir.
