Couple caught having sex in bushes

•NORCROSS - A Marietta man was arrested Sunday for allegedly engaging in sexual activity behind a closed business on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

An officer on patrol in Plaza Eighty Five Business Park on Unity Drive observed a green Honda parked next to a Dumpster and a row of bushes, according to a police report. As he got out to approach the car, the officer heard sounds of moaning and grunting coming from the bushes.

He allegedly caught a large black woman and a black man later identified as 25-year-old Donald Allison having sex. Allison fled on foot as he tried to pull on some clothing, the police report stated.

The woman fled in the Honda while the officer was chasing Allison. Allison was captured and charged with disorderly conduct.

Man shot in leg in bar fight

•NORCROSS - A 39-year-old man was shot and injured Tuesday in a bar fight at Corona Billiards Y Restaurante on Britt Road, according to a police report.

Witnesses told police an unidentified Hispanic man was harassing several female employees at the bar. Alfredo Zauala allegedly tried to defend the women and got into a fight with the suspect.

The two men went outside and the suspect apparently pulled a gun, shooting Zauala twice in the leg. The victim limped back into the bar and collapsed. He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with short curly hair between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 190 pounds. He left the bar in a red Ford Ranger, the police report stated.

Two acres damaged by brush fire

•BUFORD - Two acres were burned in a brush fire Wednesday afternoon before being contained by a creek bed.

The brush fire at U.S. Highway 23 and Hamilton Mill Road did not cause injury or exposure problems said Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department.

Georgia Forestry officials were requested by Gwinnett County firefighters to help contain the fire.
