Locals honored at Sportsmanship in Gwinnett banquet

Olympic champion Gail Devers and Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Ed Donatell at the Sportsmanship in Gwinnett banquet, a event at Velocity Sports Performance to honor players and coaches from the county's 21 youth athletic associations.

Chase Lee of the Dacula Athletic Association was named Top Youth Sportsman and Jim Powell of the North Gwinnett Baseball Softball Association was picked as Top Adult Sportsman.

Also honored was the Gwinnett Youth Sportsmanship Team of Christopher Bateman (Duluth Youth Baseball/Softball Association), Larry Bobo Jr. (Mountain Park Athletic Association), Charles Coplin (Mustang Athletics), Rhyan England (Collins Hill Athletic Association), Carter Governale (Mill Creek Athletic Association), Jordan Jackson (Lawrenceville Youth Association), Chase Lee (Dacula Athletic Association), Catherine May (Peachtree Ridge Youth Association), Lisa Norris (Greater Lilburn Athletic Association), Zachary Olivar (Shiloh Athletic Association), Brandon Reese (Grayson Athletic Association) and Patrick Russo (Dacula Soccer Club).

The Gwinnett Adult Sportsmanship Team for 2006 features Ronnie Benton (Brookwood Youth Athletic Association), Steve Dawson (Peachtree Ridge Youth Athletic Association), Mike Everett (Mountain Park Athletic Association), Katron "Keg" Giles (Dacula Athletic Association), Wayne Gilreath (Mill Creek Athletic Association), Pablo Maldonado (Dacula Soccer Club), Phillip Pardee (Shiloh Athletic Association), David Perez (Mustang Athletics), Jim Powell (North Gwinnett Baseball Softball Association), Tom Robinson (Greater Lilburn Athletic Association), Sam Wagner (Lawrenceville Youth Association) and Lynda Walker (Collins Hill Athletic Association).
