Hall - Drummond

Clifton and Cheryl Hall of Snellville announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Lynne Hall, to John David Drummond, son of Merrilyn Drummond of Conyers and Arnold Drummond of Tallapoosa.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Carroll and Harriet Banks and the late Clifton and Lois Hall, all of Snellville. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received her bachelor's degree in business administration. She is employed with V.W.R. International of Suwanee.

The future groom is employed as a lead home theater technician at Best Buy, where he heads its installation team.

The wedding is planned for March 18 at First Christian Church in Lawrenceville.

Howell - Hess

Fred and Cindy Howell of Stone Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Hope Howell, to Harry Gilbert Hess III, son of Gil and Jennifer Hess of Lilburn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jack C. Steward and the late Joan P. Steward and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Howell, all of Decatur. She is a 2000 graduate of Shiloh High School and works as a veterinary technician.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hess of Hazelton, Pa., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Foley of Baltimore. He is a 1999 graduate of Parkview High School and works in law enforcement.

The wedding is planned for March 25 at All Saints Lutheran Church.

Layng - Armstrong

Judge and Mrs. Mark E. Layng of Lilburn announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathrine Mary Layng, to Gregory Eugene Armstrong, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Armstrong of Dahlonega.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Judge John C. and Helen K. Layng, Paul and Joan Rafferty and the Late William R. Bartel, all of Rockford, Ill. She is a 2001 graduate of Brookwood High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She is employed as a legal assistant for the Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office.

The future groom is the grandson of Dorothy Abercrombie, Emogene Grainger and the late Bill Grainger and the late Dillard and Kate Armstrong, all of Dahlonega. He is a 1997 graduate of Lumpkin County High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in history. He is working as an academic advisor for the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in Gwinnett.

The wedding is planned for Saturday at Saint Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church in Snellville.

Benscoter - Regan

Cindy and Roger Benscoter of Priest Lake, Idaho, announce the engagement of their daughter, Krystina Beth Benscoter of Great Falls, Mont., to James Brooks Regan of Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, son of Cathy and Jim Regan of Lawrenceville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of LeRoy Pehl and the late Mary Pehl and Robert Benscoter and the late Mary Dorothy Benscoter, all of Priest Lake, Idaho. She is an honors graduate of Priest River Lamanna High School in Priest River, Idaho. She is serving in the Air Force and is stationed at Malmstrom AFB in Montana.

The future groom is the grandson of Pat and Mary Brabston of Benton, Miss. and the late James B. and Betty Regan of Yazoo City, Miss. He is a graduate of Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville. He attended Gwinnett Technical School, where he earned several certificates toward his associate's degree. He is serving in the Air Force and is stationed at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho.

The wedding is planned for March 25 at Priest Lake Community Church in Priest Lake, Idaho.

Prater - Bean

Mr. and Mrs. John Lyn Prater of Vernon, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Misty Renae Prater of Conroe, Texas, to Kenneth Wayne Bean, Jr. of Woodlands, Texas, son of Francine Ann Bean and the late Kenneth Wayne Bean Sr. of Suwanee.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Troy and Ruby Prater of Kennedy, Ala. and the late Earl and Louise Mize of Millport, Ala. She is a 1997 graduate of Lamar County High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of South Alabama, where she received a bachelor's degree in cardiorespiratory care sciences. She is a 2005 graduate of the Texas Heart Institute School of Perfusion where she received her certificate in cardiovascular perfusion. She is working at Conroe Regional Medical Center in Conroe, Texas.

The future groom is the grandson of Rita Bean Keene of New Hampshire and the late Oliver Charles Bean of Virginia Beach, Va. and the late Francis and Margaret Francen of Detroit. He is a 1991 graduate of North Gwinnett High School and a 1998 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he majored in business information systems and real estate mortgage finance. He obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed with SAIC as a software application engineer in Houston.

The wedding is planned for April in Destin, Fla.

Schirmer - Brown

Elizabeth Hamlin McConnel and B.S. McConnell of Awendaw, S.C. and Frank B. Schirmer III of Duluth announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Schirmer, to Donald L. Brown Jr., son of Deborah Mitchum Brown and Don L. Brown Sr. of Summerville, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Frank B. Schirmer II and Martha Schirmer of Clemson, S.C. and the late O.D. Hamlin II and Rosa Frampton Hamlin of Mount Pleasant, S.C. She is a 1994 graduate of Duluth High School and is employed by Prudential Carolina Real Estate.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Alfred and Laura Mitchum of Moncks Corner and the late Clara and Darwin George Brown of Goose Creek. He is a 1990 graduate of Summerville High School and a 1994 graduate of Trident Technical College.

The wedding is planned for April 1 in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
