Man admits to sex crime

LAWRENCEVILLE - A Tennessee man pleaded guilty in federal district court Thursday for traveling to Norcross with the intention of having sex with a 10-year-old girl.

Roy Logston, 68, of Chattanooga, Tenn., contacted who he thought was a 10-year-old girl through an Internet chat room, but he was communicating with an undercover FBI agent. During their instant messaging and phone conversations, Logston expressed a desire to travel to Georgia to have sex with the girl, according to federal prosecutors.

On Feb. 3, Logston was arrested at a Norcross restaurant where he arranged to meet the girl. At the time, he had Viagra pills in his pocket, said Patrick Crosby, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Atlanta.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Logston should receive a sentence of 11 years and three months imprisonment followed by 10 years of supervised release, Crosby said.
