Ron Hollum, age 60, passed away Thursday June 22. Mr. Hollum was born on February 15, 1946 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a graduate of Florida State University and a salesman for Northstar Equipment Corp. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ginny, sons, Joel and Joshua and his fiancee, Carolyn Cayard, mother, Lucy Hollum, sister Marcia Mattera, sisters and brother-in-law, Al & Marty Ball, Betty Roche, Joe & Susan Stepp, nieces & nephews, Jeb and Jeneane Ball, Lexi Ball, Perrylove Ball, Dan & Jenny Breen, Troy & Moriah Lane, Cristi Mattera, Janie Roche, Chris Stepp, Michael Stepp, Ashley Sutherland and Lindsay Sutherland. A celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 444 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30044, with the Rev. Jim Bocian officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00-1:00pm at the church sanctuary. Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall following the service. Mrs. Karen Utes, age 62, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles Utes. She is survived by her: Sons: Michael C. Utes, Homer, GA, Robert T. Utes, Jefferson, GA; Grandsons: Dustin R. Utes, Oxford, GA, Kristoffer M. Utes, Buford, GA; Brother: Ronald Fischer, Phoenix, AZ. Mrs. Utes was born on March 22, 1944 in Chicago, IL. She was employed with the Gwinnett County Library System and worked in both Buford and Lawrenceville. She was an accomplished pianist, an Alto tennis player and ping pong player. She played in the Senior Olympics and won a gold medal in ping pong and a silver medal in tennis in 2004. In 2002, she won All City Championship in Alta tennis. She was also an artist. She was a member of the Sugar Hill United Methodist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was an adventurous person with a very inquisitive mind. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mari Lane Brooks officiating. Interment in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. Mr. Frank O'Kelley, age 64 of Jackson passed away June 27, 2006 at the Athens Regional Medical Center. Frank was born September 1, 1941 in Macon County, Ga to the late Lillian Anne Dobbs and George Wiley O'Kelley, Sr. He was a graduate of Henry County High School, attended Georgia Tech, was an active member of McDonough First United Methodist Church; a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and a past member of the Snellville Jaycees. Survivors include sons, John F. Jr. and Trish O'Kelley of Bostwick, Mark E. and Kim O'Kelley of Grayson; daughter, Pamela and Marty Taylor of Snellville; grandchildren, Connor and Ian O'Kelley, Will and John Taylor; brother, George Wiley O'Kelley II; special friend, Evelyn Moseley Craig; two nieces, one nephew and a host of cousins.
