LAWRENCEVILLE - A 53-year-old Snellville man was killed Tuesday morning when his vehicle was struck by several others on Stone Mountain Highway near Ross Road in Lilburn.
It was the 44th fatality of the year on Gwinnett roads, according to the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office. Last year, 88 people were killed in motor vehicle accidents in the county. Investigators believe Gary M. Reiser was attempting to turn left out of the Inn Town Suites hotel parking lot onto Stone Mountain Highway when several vehicles slammed into his 2004 Infiniti. A total of six vehicles were involved in the collision, although not all of them struck the Infiniti, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. Reiser was not wearing his seat belt, Moloney said. He was ejected and died at the scene. Police did not immediately release the names of the other drivers involved in the crash on Tuesday. Several other drivers were transported to local hospitals, but none of them suffered life-threatening injuries.More like this story
