William Leroy Ashworth, age 94, of Dacula, Georgia died peacefully, June 13, 2006. In the early 30's, he joined Franklin D. Roosevelt's CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) and worked for the Corps in the Maryland area for several years. He retired from Wheelabator-Frye, Inc. in 1977, after 27 years of service. For the whole of his life in Dacula, he kept a small farm with livestock on Harbins Road. Working the land and loving his family was his passion. He will be remembered in his community for growing and selling tomatoes and vegetables on the honor system, which he did until the time of his death. He was the personification of hard work, devotion and consideration of others. We are honored and blessed to have shared in his life and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Annie Lou McMillian and brother, Lagrand Ashworth. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mae Jo Ashworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Martha Ashworth, Gerald and Shirley Ashworth; son, Lonnie Ashworth; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Pauline Harper, Runette Saltee, and Clydene Nalley and brother, Ray Ashworth. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Methodist Children Home, Decatur, GA or to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock, p.m., June 19, 2006 at Wages and Son Gwinnett Chapel. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service. Mr. Sammy Singleton, age 35 of Duluth, passed away June 12, 2006. Mr. Singleton was preceded in death by his father, Samuel R. Singleton, Sr. Survivors include: Mother, Ezella Cooper; Brother, Chris Singleton; Sister, Laura Singleton; Half Sister, Amanda Cooper, all of Cumming; Grandmother, Ethel Mae Crider, Knoxville, TN; and several other relatives also survive. Ruth Elder Crane, 86, of Tucker died Tuesday, June 13, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Roy Crane; brothers, Hoke Elder, Hugh Elder, Hoyt Elder; and sister, Louise Talton.
