Quitting sparks confrontation
•LILBURN - Putting in her two weeks notice turned into a particularly stressful situation for a Lilburn woman, according to police reports.
A 30-year-old woman told her employer that she would be leaving in two weeks from the adult care home where she worked and lived. When the woman tried to remove her belongings to move out, her employer refused to let her because she said she was trying to steal items that weren't hers.
The employer continued to refuse after police arrived on the scene. Instead, she started pushing and yelling at the woman. An officer repeatedly called for them to "break it up" until he pointed pepper spray at the employer. When she continued to act up, he grabbed her by the wrist and tried talking to her, the report said.
Police called the business owner, who said she also suspected the woman was trying to remove items that weren't hers. Under the watch of police, the woman finally removed her belongings from her residence.
The employer continued to threaten the woman as she packed and left. But she told police she was not planning to press any charges.
Man robbed, car hijacked
•LAWRENCEVILLE - Three men robbed a man and hijacked his car near his home last week in Lawrenceville.
When he was getting out of his car, the 30-year-old victim told police he saw three young black men appear from behind his house and another car parked in his driveway.
The three men, two of who he said were armed with chrome semiautomatic pistols, forced him to the ground. When he tried to get a glimpse of their faces, they would kick or hit him in the face. After taking his wallet and jacket, the suspects fled the scene in the victim's car.
In addition to his car, the victim lost $2,600 in cash from the business where he worked with his brother.
Woman shoots cat with BB gun
•LAWRENCEVILLE - A Lawrenceville woman shot her neighbor's cat in the eye with a BB gun, according to a police report.
The 60-year-old cat owner called the police after he found out his pet had been shot. He said he had been having an argument with his 56-year-old neighbor when she started threatening him with her BB gun.
He left to go get his rake, and she shot the animal, he told police.
The neighbor admitted she had shot at cats in the past, but didn't do it this time. She said the man was the aggressor for threatening her with a rake.
The man told an officer he removed the BB from his pet's eye. It was unclear what damage the gun inflicted on the animal.
Other neighbors told police that they have seen the woman in her backyard with a BB rifle shooting at cats. Because there was no physical evidence and no independent witnesses who saw this specific incident, police did not make any arrests.
