Annie "Ruth" (Wheeler) Mitchell, age 70, of Buford, GA, passed away on June 7, 2006. Ruth was born into this life on September 7, 1935 to J. T. and Alma (Milligan) Wheeler in Oconee County, GA. She grew up in Oconee and Clarke Counties. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gene Mitchell. She proudly raised 5 children, whom she is survived by, 3 sons, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah & Larry Plott, Dacula, Donald Mitchell, Buford, Gerry Mitchell, Buford, Lisa & Bill Johnsa, Flowery Branch, Ken Mitchell, Buford; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly (Plott) Swanson, Lorie (Plott) Park, Michael Plott, Amanda (Mitchell) White, Allison Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, Mitch Johnsa, Patrick Mitchell Johnsa. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren. She is lovingly known as "Memaw" to these and countless other children she has had in her care over the years. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Floyd Wheeler, Augusta. She is also survived by 4 loving siblings, Gene & Mary Ann Wheeler, Lexington, Ann (Wheeler) & Don Pass, Athens, David & Ann Wheeler, Oakwood, Ronnie Wheeler, Athens; sisters-in-law, Dean (Wheeler) McCurry, Augusta, Christine Adams, Buford. Surviving as well are 16 nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Ruth has been a member of Hog Mountain Baptist Church and the Hog Mountain Community for over 50 years, since moving to Gwinnett from Athens. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, with a warm gift of hospitality. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Hog Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. James Clayton, Rev. Chris Gaddis and Rev. Barney Williams officiating. The body will be placed in state at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Hog Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Mickey Wheeler, Barry Wheeler, Tony Wheeler, Bryan Wheeler, Kevin Wheeler, Greg Wheeler, Rodney Pass and Jeff Pass. Rhonda Gruber, age 44 of Duluth, GA died June 8, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Donald Gruber; parents, Carroll and Betty Rutledge of Lilburn; sister, Carla Rutledge of Snellville; niece, Nicki Rutledge. Mrs. Gruber was a member of North Point Baptist Church. She grew up in Albany, GA and moved to the Atlanta area in 1980. Bette Ann (Clark) Beaumont, 79, died June 6, 2006 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born in Boston to the late Frederick H. and Alice I. (Lyng) Clark Sr.,she was raised in Winthrop and in 1948 graduated from Salem State with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, she moved to San Francisco for two years. She returned to Winthrop, earned a Masters Degree and taught there until she married in August, 1956 to Leo E. Beaumont. She raised her family of 4 children and in 1972 moved to Vermont.Her teaching also included Rutlandtown, Vt and Nauset Regional District. She retired to Leesburg, Fl with her husband Leo. They volunteered as court mediators for the family courts. In the 1980s, she also owned and operated the Patio Fare restaurant on the cape in Chatham. She recently moved to Andover. She was the widow of Leo E. Beaumont and is survived by four children, Patricia Beaumont and her husband Robert Stannard of Benson, Vt., Michael and his wife Vanessa Beaumont of Tavares, FL., Peter and his wife Catherine Beaumont of Andover, John and his wife Heather Beaumont of Lawrenceville, Georgia, eleven grandchildren who she adored, Abigale, Luke, Sam, Mac,Chelsey, Ryan, Kaity, Stephen, Kellie, Matthew, and Yvonne. Family and friends and invited to a funeral mass on Monday at 10 A.M. at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Burial will be private.
