LAWRENCEVILLE - Door and frame maker Ingersoll-Rand Security Technologies announced it has upgraded its Suwanee manufacturing plant and regional offices in a move that will create 150 jobs.
The plant, which makes Steelcraft doors, frames and Hussman commercial refrigeration and control systems, has added 60 positions as part of the upgrade. The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it plans to fill the rest of the manufacturing and management jobs by the first quarter of next year. Ingersoll-Rand held a ribbon-cutting earlier this month to mark the enhancements. The facility will commit 150 employees to Steelcraft-branded products and 250 to Hussman, making it one of Ingersoll-Rand's largest dual manufacturing plants. The company offers a wide array of products and technologies, from climate control to construction. Ingersoll-Rand is the latest company to bring new jobs to Gwinnett. Earlier this year, Hewlett-Packard said it will locate a new 200,000-square-foot data center in Suwanee that could employ up to 140 people with an average salary of $60,000. Foundation Technologies Inc. also plans to build a nearly 47,000-square-foot, two-story distribution center in the Gwinnett Progress Center industrial park in Lawrenceville.More like this story
