Man breaks into woman's home

•DULUTH - A Duluth woman surprised a would-be burglar Thursday at Idlewylde apartment complex at 1435 Boggs Road.

The woman, 25, was preparing for bed at 10 p.m. when she heard a knock at her front door. She looked out the peephole and then peered through the blinds on the sliding glass door to her patio, however she saw no one, according to a police report.

After the woman returned to her bedroom and shut the door, she reportedly heard a loud "rumbling" sound. The bedroom door opened and an unidentified black man about 6 feet tall was standing in the doorway, the police report stated. The woman began searching for her pepper spray and said, "What do you want? Who are you?" the police report stated.

The suspect looked confused for a moment and then ran out of the apartment. Nothing was taken during the suspected burglary attempt.

•NORCROSS - A Norcross man was carjacked Thursday at Kendall Creek Apartments on Hunters Ridge Lane.

The victim was exiting his car in the parking lot when an unidentified man armed with a handgun walked up to him. The suspect demanded the victim's money and the keys to his red 1995 Acura Integra, according to a police report.

A second suspect appeared, and together the two robbers dragged the victim several parking spaces away and ordered him to lie on the ground. One of the robbers left in the victim's Acura and the other man followed in a passenger car.

The first suspect was described as a black man about 25 years old, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds wearing a large silver necklace. The other suspect was a black man who appeared to be about the same age, but four inches shorter and 30 pounds lighter, the police report stated.
