SUWANEE - The new principal of Walnut Grove Elementary School is a veteran educator who has taught, or been an administrator, at four other Gwinnett schools.
The Gwinnett Board of Education appointed Kevin Bracher principal of Walnut Grove this week at a special called meeting.
Bracher began his teaching career with the school system at Brookwood High School in 1991. He also taught at Meadowcreek and Duluth before moving to school administration. He has served as assistant principal at Brookwood and Nesbit Elementary. For six years, he was also the headmaster of the Intown Community School in Atlanta.
He holds a doctorate and a specialist's degree from Georgia State University, and a master's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State.
Walnut Grove's former principal, Georgann Eaton, will become a coordinator for the school system's Office of Research and Accountability. Both Eaton and Bracher will assume their new positions this week.
