Lawrenceville co-op pays off building

LAWRENCEVILLE - With little money, no home and no place to go, Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry was in the same position as many of its clients.

However, after a series of large donations over the past two years, the ministry's building is now paid in full, and the money once used for overhead expenses can be used to help more residents in need.

"We have received donations that almost exactly matched the amount needed to pay off our building, and now we are debt free within one year of purchasing our beautiful new home," said Linda Freund, director of the Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry.

Adkins to perform at Arena

DULUTH - Country music star Trace Adkins hits the road this month, and his tour will bring him to the Arena at Gwinnett Center on March 9.

Adkins' latest hit single is "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," off his "Songs About Me" album.

Dacula senior Josh Warren and Brookwood head football coach Mark Crews will be honored by The Touchdown Club of Atlanta at its Feb. 4 season-ending banquet at the Marriott Gwinnett Place. Warren, who helped his team to the state semifinals by catching 15 touchdowns, was picked as the Metro Atlanta Offensive Back of the Year and Crews, whose team made the state finals, was selected as the Class AAAAA Coach of the Year.
